Peaches and Coconuts

Peaches and Coconuts... That is the comparison our program uses to compare us American students to the Parisians.  We are are loud and bubbly on the outside but it's hard to get to our deeper core, while the Parisians are quiet and conservative on the outside but once you pass that first layer they are similar to us.  So it's funny when a group of us are walking down the street and one person is like "STOP, we are being ripe tender peaches right now, when we need to become like the coconuts!" So then we all become quiet and try to fit in more.
Two Rules to fit in: 1.Don't smile, but if you do, don't show teeth 2. Walk like your on a mission....at ALL times.  These are very important, so i try to keep to them, even though it is alot harder to not smile at people who walk by you then you would think.

NewWorld.NewLife.

As I move into my dorm here in Paris it is new and challenging experience.  Let's start with my NEVER'SI have never traveled by plane alone. I have never lived with more than one person in a room.  I have never lived in a city.  I have never been on the metro alone.   I have never taken a taxi.  I have never been in a foreign country alone.  VICTORIOUS.  As I slowly adjust to my new life here in Paris it has been difficult and I have been challenged to step out of my comfort level many a time so far.  REWARDING. I am excited to see what's in store and what other experiences I will encounter in these next months to become a new ME.
